Regional Sales Manager
Regional Sales Manager

Job purpose
  • To drive profitable sales growth and expand the distribution of Denby Group brands within the allocated territory.
  • To delivering territory plans, achieving sales targets, strengthening key customer relationships, and developing new business opportunities, while ensuring the brand is positioned within approved 3rd party retailers and aligned with Denby’s selective distribution strategy.
  • This is an established geographical territory with over 100 accounts covering Northern England and Scotland. 
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Territory Management:
o    Deliver profitable sales growth by meeting and where possible exceeding agreed financial targets, KPIs, and brand objectives.
o    Provide full call coverage across all agreed outlets, maintaining prescribed visit frequencies.
o    Maximise product distribution, range listings, and in-store display space, and execute brand campaigns, promotions and events in line with the marketing calendar.
o    Identify and develop new business opportunities in line with selective distribution policies.
Account Management:
o    Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts and independent retailers.
o    Develop and implement customer business plans in collaboration with the Head of Sales.
o    Ensure product listings and new line forms are completed accurately and on time. 
o    Maintain customer pricing files, including promotional pricing, listings, and delists. 
o    Ensure customer requirements are actioned efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
Brand & Trade Marketing Execution:
o    Implement agreed promotions, campaigns and new product launches at the regional level. 
o    Negotiate additional in-store display space and ensure high-quality merchandising to best reflect the premium positioning of the brand
o    Execute trade marketing strategies with nominated key retail partners.
o    Support range and merchandise planning with in-store insight and provide feedback to key stakeholders in the business
o    Collaborate with Trade Marketing on promotions, launches, and POS materials.
o    Attend and support all trade exhibitions, and product / sales training sessions as and when required.
Hospitality (HORECA):
o    Support growth within the hospitality sector through distributors and end users.
o    Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive brand awareness and sales.
Compliance, Reporting & Administration:
o    Ensure compliance with intellectual property and selective distribution policies.
o    Maintain accurate customer records, journey plans, and territory reports.
o    Submit orders daily and complete all reporting and expense submissions on time.
o    Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and sales meetings as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Experience:
o    Minimum 3 years’ field sales experience within the consumer durables sectors, ideally within tableware, cookware, giftware, or electricals
o    Experience within the HORECA sector desirable.
o    Proven experience managing large geographic territories.
o    Omni-channel selling experience advantageous
Knowledge & Skills:
o    Strong market awareness of relevant sectors.
o    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o    Highly organised with strong planning and time management skills.
o    Analytical with strong attention to detail.
o    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
o    Graduate-level education or equivalent preferred; minimum A-level standard.
o    Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).

o    Trade bodies and associations (AIS, BIRA, BHETA, ENSE)

Reporting
o    To comply on time with the administrative requirements of the job.
o    Maintenance of accurate customer records.
o    Completion of all reports including Journey Plans.
o    Daily dispatch of orders taken to Sales Admin by phone or Laptop.
o    Completion of all territory reports.
o    Monthly submission of expenses for approval by the Head of Sales for cash or credit card claims.
o    Completion of other administrative and job-related tasks as may be specified by the Head of Sales or Managing Director.

Profile
Highly self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently for extended periods. Comfortable with extensive travel and overnight stays.
