choose springtime colours.
The first step to creating a beautiful Easter dining table setting is choosing a colour palette. For this time of year, spring colours, such as pastels, greens, and light brown tones, can work well.
Below, we'll go through two spring-inspired colour palettes for any table setting style: bright and cheerful pastels and simple and elegant neutrals.

bright and cheerful pastels.
Because spring is a time for new flowers and beautiful pale-toned blooms, pastel colours are ideal for Easter. You'll see them everywhere, from your garden to the shells of painted eggs. And, if you want to dress your table up for the season, you might want to stick to pastels for your tableware and decorations.
Muted shades of yellow, pink, blue, green, and lilac can look great on your Easter dining table, especially if you mix and match your hues. Our Impression range has been created with this in mind, with pastels complemented by neutral and textured pieces. Elements Blue, Fern Green, Sorbet Pink, Shell Peach, and Light Grey collections would also be perfect for the occasion, and it’s easy to select floral centrepieces to a pastel palette to create an Eastertime table to impress.
Our Studio Blue range would also be ideal for your Easter table place settings. The flecked finish and shiny glaze of this collection evokes memories of speckled eggs. Its calming pale blue and white tones are also perfect for the spring and beyond.

simple and elegant neutrals.
If you want to set out a more minimalistic Easter dinner table setting but would still like a few pops of colour, you can lay out white and contrasting ceramics, such as Natural Canvas. Alternatively pair white plates with bowls in earthy and organic hues, such as Regency Green and Elements Fern Green, or the oatmeal tones of Linen, for elegant and understated Easter table décor.
You can accessorise your table with white or neutral-toned cast-iron cookware, oven to tableware, and serveware. Or, experiment with different shades and choose serveware in darker hues, such as the rich browns of Kiln.

dress the table with a table runner.
Dressing your Easter table with linen, such as a tablecloth or table runner, can help to make it feel like more of an occasion. Fabrics can also add some extra colour and texture to your table setting, so look for white, brown, or pastel linens that match your homewares.
Easter is a time to celebrate nature, so you might also want to look for patterns and materials that create the feeling of being outdoors. Gingham and stripes can give the illusion of a picnic blanket, while natural materials such cotton, linen, or hessian fabrics can make your Easter table setting feel more organic.

use homemade Easter table centrepieces.
If you're creative with your Easter table centrepieces, you can add a fun and natural springtime touch to your dinner table. Because we tend to look towards nature for our Easter table decorations, the season lends itself nicely to a rustic style, which means homemade elements can look lovely sitting alongside your dinnerware.
Why not try making some of these simple DIY table decorations for Easter?:
- Miniature eggshell vases in egg cups (see image above, where we've used extra-small pots)

- Children's placemats

add a floral arrangement.
Spring is a time for your garden to renew and revive itself, and bright seasonal blooms will make beautiful Easter flower arrangements for your table's centrepiece. Some flowers that will look great on your tablescape include:
- Daffodils
- Tulips
- Irises
- Amaryllis
- Lilies
- Azaleas
- Daisies
- Freesias
- Camelias
- Lilacs
- Clematis
- Jasmine
- Honeysuckles
- Pansies
- Hyacinths
- Hydrangeas (if Easter is late in the season)
- Cherry or apple blossom
Try to choose flowers with pale-coloured petals to match your Easter table setting. You can mix them with some pink, yellow, and white roses for a stunning pastel-toned decoration.
You can buy fresh flower arrangements from your local supermarket or florist. However, if you'd like to create your own floral Easter centrepiece from scratch using flowers from your garden, take a look at our guide on How to Style a Blooming Brunch with That Flower Shop, which features everything you'll need to make your own floral arrangement at home.
Jars, jugs, and plant pots and vases are perfect for presenting your floral arrangements in. Look for pieces in neutral or pastel tones to match the rest of your Easter décor.
You can add interest to your scene by placing your flower arrangements at different levels. Along with clipping stems to various lengths, use cake stands, books, and vessels in an assortment of sizes to create different heights to your Easter table centrepiece.
Alternatively, a few succulents placed in egg cups and dotted around your table can add a touch of greenery without taking up too much space. This is perfect if you're working with a smaller table.
Once you've crafted the perfect Easter flower arrangement, you can place a few piles of moss and sprigs of eucalyptus and ferns around your floral centrepiece to incorporate a little more of the outdoors. You could also top your folded napkins with a few springs of fresh flora to decorate your place settings.

take it outside.
Instead of bringing the outside in, you could create your Easter dinner table outside. Dining al-fresco means you can fully immerse yourself in the season, and any garden plants will make a great backdrop for your spring table theme.
If dining outside seems like a great idea but you'd like to ensure your dinner will be weather-proof, consider putting up a gazebo around your dining table. You can spruce it up with a few strings of fairy lights, bunting, and flower garlands to dress it up for Easter.

present your Easter bakes.
Instead of crafting large Easter centrepieces, why not let your food do all the talking? If you've created a delicious seasonal bake or two, let them be the star of the show by presenting them on a ceramic cake stand or serving platter in the centre of the table.
You can give cakes a stunning rustic look that's perfect for Easter by applying a very light layer of icing, creating what's called a naked or semi-naked cake. Create a wreath of spring blooms to lay around the edge of your dessert or scatter them in among your bakes if you've made smaller, individual cakes.
You could even crystallise herbs, edible flowers, and foliage to decorate the tops of your cakes and inject a touch of spring. To do this, simply coat the surface of your decorations with lightly beaten egg whites, sprinkle with sugar, and leave them to dry.
If you're still working on your Easter menu and need some baking inspiration, why not give one of our delicious recipes a try? Any of these bakes would make beautiful and simple Easter table decorations or favours, as well as being delicious desserts and snacks:
- Chocolate fudge cake
- Mini chocolate muffins
- Kym Grimshaw’s raspberry ripple and white chocolate cheesecake bars
- Chocolate and hazelnut doughnuts
- Chocolate and vanilla truffles
- Cookie sandwiches
- Raspberry, white chocolate, and almond loaf cake

fold your napkins.
Folding your napkins can add a special finishing touch to your table, and you don't need to be a master in origami to create recognisable shapes. There are a few simple ways to fold napkins for Easter, and this fun Easter bunny style is cute and very easy to create.
Instead of drawing the Easter bunny's face, you could write your family members' names on each egg in a colourful permanent marker. Use metallic pens to create a sense of luxury for the occasion.
Alternatively, you can roll or fold your napkins into fans. Use Easter-themed napkin rings, ribbon, or string to secure and decorate your table linen. Why not create your own foliage napkin rings from herbs and plants you find in your garden?

add some homemade Easter table favours.
Easter is a time to indulge, so why not treat your family to a homemade table favour that they can enjoy before or after their meal. Edible favours always go down well, and miniature baskets filled with small chocolate eggs, jellybeans, or sugared almonds can be a nice touch.
You could also make seasonal name cards by using royal icing to add their name to a homemade Easter biscuit. Our lemon shortbread recipe would be ideal. You can use cookie cutters to shape them into Easter bunnies, eggs, and chicks to give them a more seasonal look. Why not also serve them alongside your Easter bakes? If you're catering to family members that don't have much of a sweet tooth, miniature versions of your Easter floral centrepieces or charming spring plant gifts can also make lovely table favours.
No matter what kind of meal you have planned this Easter, creating a beautiful tablescape to serve your food on is all part of the fun. We hope these tips have given you plenty of inspiration to start decorating your Easter dining table.
