Still in the same pottery in Derbyshire, Denby has been crafting versatile, beautiful and durable made-to-last ceramics for over 200 years, always subscribing to the ethos of 'buy well, buy once'. And it's never been more important to make smart choices when it comes to buying homewares, ensuring we learn the lessons of fast-fashion and find ways to ensure ceramics and homeware don't end up in landfill. At Denby we are proudly leading the charge, with our sustainably made collections and ideas on what to do with the old.
Denby is proudly part of the anti-landfill movement and we are dedicated to helping you find the best ways to consciously make use of older, unwanted or imperfect homeware products. We asked a focus group of 2000 participants their thoughts about throwaway culture and fast-homeware.

As part of our 'Denby Reloved' campaign, we were excited to partner with Shelter to encourage the nation to think more purposefully about their homeware to help reduce the number of items going to landfill, with ideas on how to relove them.

01. Relove with Shelter.
We are excited to be working together with Shelter on our ‘Relove with Shelter’ campaign. This campaign will encourage those who have unwanted or un-needed tableware to donate it to their local Shelter charity shop (or via their handy postal service). As well as preventing these old homewares from ending up in landfill, it means pre-loved items will be sold on to be loved by a new owner and raise important funds for Shelter in the process.

02. Repurpose your Denby.
Our stylish and versatile collections remain the choice of the conscious shopper with ceramics that are built to stand the test of time, but we understand that sometimes you may want to refresh, or completely change, your collection. An important consideration is how to repurpose the things we decide we no longer need, and we have lots of sustainable ideas to put your ceramics to good use: using your ceramics in different rooms of the home is a great option, or helping your local charity shop or group by donating pieces that are in good condition. This helps others at the same time as clearing your cupboards.

03. Celebrate vintage pieces.
Well made pieces are a thing of joy and remind us of moments we’ve spent together. Handcrafted pottery is often handed down, everyday heirlooms that become part of your story. Our pieces have been cherished by generations and we love to see vintage pieces brought together with new and celebrated in your homes. Mixing older pieces of Denby with our current ranges can create a really stylish and unique look in any space; try styling classic Gypsy with Impression Pink; or iconic Arabesque and Chevron with Natural Canvas.
