Here at Denby our ethos is one of sustainable, responsible and conscientious production and usage. This has defined our business for over 200 years. Our stoneware has been handcrafted in Derbyshire, England on the same site since 1809 using clay that is on our doorstep which minimises energy usage in transportation. And we are proud now to be handcrafting our porcelain on this historic site too. We are zero to landfill for all our process waste.
When it comes to packaging we know that parcels can experience a fair bit of rough and tumble through the post. So to try and prevent the possibility of damage in transit we use packaging materials especially designed to protect your purchases. All of the packaging materials we select are responsibly sourced and nearly all can be recycled, and we would ask you to please do so if you are able. We know there are sometimes questions about the use of bubble wrap and we are busy testing materials which would avoid the use of bubble wrap altogether, but in the meantime our bubble wrap is made from 30% recycled materials and can be fully recycled. We are also working on alternatives to the plastic bags that some of our plates come in as these are not recyclable. Please bear with us whilst we develop these better environmental solutions.
When it comes to the product you have chosen, Denby’s durability is legendary meaning you only need buy once, you get a quality product which lasts, and you can use it confidently when you might otherwise have chosen disposable items. Thank you again for choosing Denby and we hope you get great enjoyment from your purchase over many years.
