Still on the same site where the pottery was founded, our rich heritage can be seen in the fabric of the building and the beguiling knowledge that generations of craftspeople have been making pottery here since 1809. Nestled next door to the seam of clay which our founder discovered, many traditional hand-crafting techniques have been preserved and are still used in our factory today.

Our Stories.

Our History.

Decades of Denby.

Handcrafted in Derbyshire.
Handcrafted is not a word we use lightly. For us it means the hands of our super-talented and passionate craftspeople and their amazing stories, along with the amazing craft techniques which sit behind every piece.
We're often described as the the 'biggest studio pottery in the world', with over 20 pairs of hands touching every piece we make. The result: ceramics that are truly unique to you and your home.

Sustainably made in England.
At Denby, we have been crafting versatile, beautiful and durable made-to-last ceramics for over 200 years on the same site in Derbyshire, England, always subscribing to the ethos of ‘buy well, buy once’.
We are proudly the first UK tableware manufacturer to be able to claim ‘zero to landfill’ for all our process waste and are always looking for ways to lessen our environmental impact.
